Who is this scholarship open to?
The BFF Scholarship OPEN TO:
All Undergraduate and Graduate full-time nursing students enrolled in a state accredited undergraduate or graduate program with one or more years of school remaining, in the states of California or Nevada.* -
How much is the scholarship?
A one time $5,000 Scholarship will be awarded to one (1) student in California and one (1) student in Nevada per academic school year.

When is the application deadline?
The application process opens September 1, 2025 and closes at 11:59 PM, November 30, 2025.

Should I type or print my answers?
We ask that you are able to provide the requested information in the clearest and legible format so that our scholarship committee will be able to read and understand your answers.

Do I need to provide proof that I am a US Citizen or Alien with US permanent resident status/Alien registration numbers?
Yes, it is required to provide a copy of your US citizenship or Alien with US permanent resident status/Alien registration numbers for scholarship consideration. This information can be uploaded using the link provided on the application form in section 5 titled "Please upload any additional supporting documents for your application".

What does current classification mean?
Please indicate if you are a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior Undergraduate nursing student or Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior Graduate nursing student at your school or program.

What is a statement of financial need?
In 500 words or less, please explain why you need this scholarship and how you would benefit from it.

What do I need to provide as part of my financial needs information?
Applicants must provide copies of income tax returns, W-2 statements and 1099 forms to verify the information provided under section 4c. estimated income for June 2024 - May 2025. This information can be uploaded on the link on the BFF website.

How do I send my video
You can upload your video to the link in section 5 titled "Who or what inspired you to become a nurse?".

What happens next?
1. Your application will be evaluated by the Bonnie Fang Foundation Scholarship Committee
2. Applicants advancing to the next stage will be notified during the first week of February 2026.
3. Applicants advancing to the next stage will be asked to submit additional materials. -
When will the 2025-2026 scholarship recipients be notified?
The California and Nevada 2025-2026 scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of March.

What do I need to submit for my scholarship consideration?
1. Show proof of being a legal U.S. Citizen or alien with U.S. permanent resident status/alien registration, free from any federal judgement, liens or existing service commitment and not overdue on a federal debt
2. Provide proof of enrollment to a state accredited undergraduate or graduate nursing program located in California or Nevada
3. Enrolled during the 2025-2026 academic school year, with one or more years left of school remaining
4. Official School Transcripts
5. Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 and above
6. Provide two (2) letters of recommendation (Nursing school professors/instructors)
