Loma Linda University | School of Nursing

Ashley Brown was born and raised in the Loma Linda area and grew up in a family of medical professionals. Her great grandfather, grandfather and grandmother all graduated from the College of Medical Evangelicals, which is now known as Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Her mother also graduated from Loma Linda University with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Ashley attended Pacific Union College where she completed her BSN with honors and was the recipient of the Nightingale Award. Since graduating, she has worked as an ICU nurse for over 10 years. Ashley states “throughout the years, I have been honored to care for a diverse set of patients.”

After working as a bedside ICU nurse, Ashley is now furthering her career by becoming a nurse anesthetist. She is presently attending Loma Linda University School of Nursing and serves as the admissions representative for her class. “The profession of nurse anesthesia combines the many aspects that I have cherished as a bedside nurse. These include pharmacologic interventions, hemodynamic and ventilator management and being the ultimate patient advocate.”

In the immediate future, Ashley plans to work in a teaching institution where she will be able to hone her skills as a nurse anesthetist as well as serving multiple patient populations such as obstetrics, pediatric and geriatric. In the more distant future, Ashley plans to pursue her DNP with an emphasis in anesthesia. “I have a passion for learning and education and strive to provide the best and safest patient care.”
