Loma Linda University | School of Nursing

My name is Megan French and I am a senior student in the Loma Linda Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist program. I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona and am the youngest of six children. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Arizona In Tucson, Arizona in 2007. It is while completing my undergraduate prerequisite courses that I met my husband of six years, Michael French. We have two dogs that we take on hikes or to the water as often as possible.

I knew nursing was the only profession for me since high school when I transitioned from playing sports on the field to working in the student trainer office assisting with sports injuries and rehabilitation. Since then, I continued to treat patients in a variety of settings; as a patient care technician, telemetry nurse, high acuity cardiac care nurse, cardiac intensive care nurse, and trauma intensive care nurse. I enjoy taking care of people and being a source of comfort during stressful times. My next aspiration is to become a nurse anesthetist.

I first learned about anesthetists in nursing school when one spoke to our class. I loved the combination of high acuity care, hands on technical skills, patient interaction, and still getting to be a nurse while doing it. My current goal is to graduate next spring from the Loma Linda University program. I am always grateful to the experiences I have had in nursing for it has molded the care giver and person I am today.
